Fun in the sun

This afternoon Jeff and I took Maycie outside in the front yard to get some playtime in. The sun is shining today, but there is a gentle breeze blowing, which made for perfect weather for our afternoon outside.

Maycie was thrilled to be outside in the front yard. At first she was very hyper and was running up and down the streets, but after a few lickings, given by Jeff, she calmed down and obediently stayed on our lawn.

Jeff tossed her a ball for a while, then he worked on some training commands that Maycie doesn't exactly understand yet. Such as...stay, go, stop, no...pretty much all the basic commands. ;-) She acted smart today though, and was catching on pretty quickly.

While Jeff and the mutt ran around together, I sat and soaked up some sun while snapping away with the camera.

They were moving too fast for our little camera to keep up with, hence some of the fuzzy pictures.
While sitting in the sun, I noticed that our overgrown lawn (which desperately needs mowed) is growing some lovely flower-weeds in it.

In a few patches of grass, we even have some alysium growing! I'll be sad when Jeff mows and these flowers are gone.

After a while, we headed back inside for Jeff to start getting ready for work. It was fun getting some sunshine. Hopefully tomorrow is still sunny, so we can go back out and spend another afternoon soaking in some more Vitamin D.
