Yesterday for Annie's engagement party, I wore a black and white dress that made me feel like I was wearing a tent. To help out my "tentish" feeling, I decided to tie a ribbon around my middle to help break up the eye-soreness of the black/white tent. I picked the pink ribbon for no particular reason other than the fact that pink is my favorite color.
None of my friends believe Jeff and I when we promise them that we don't know what the baby's gender is. And it big time bugs them to know that we only have ONE name picked out--be it a boy or a girl, our name is selected.
I showed up to Annie's party last night, wearing my pink ribbon, and goofy Ashley runs over and points to the ribbon. "Pink?! A pink ribbon?! What does that mean?!?" I had no idea what she meant at first, but it dawned on me rather quickly. I started laughing and once again, denying knowing the gender. She doesn't believe me one little bit! "Sly guys! A pink ribbon is pretty obvious! It's a girl!!" Heehehehe! She's too funny!
I tried telling them all, "Trust me, if we knew the gender--everyone else would know also!" But *sigh* they don't believe me...
So for the record: tomorrow I will be wearing a baby blue bow, just so I can reaaallly throw people off. :)
